The UW servers are used for things like web publishing, shell access, and MySQL. The UW servers are part of a Linux cluster managed by UW-IT, UW's central computing-support organization. View software available in CRC labs.Īll UW students, staff, and faculty have accounts on UW servers. Software for both macOS and Windows computers is available. Students have access to UW's CRC computing labs and their software. Students may also provision a checkout computer and install an alternative operating system such as Linux. We do support the Macintosh platform in the iSchool and are now offering both macOS and Windows on all of the Apple computers in our labs. Most applications are available on every computer in the iSchool. Generally, we stay current with all major releases of software. We have installed an extensive collection of software, from a wide variety of companies, on the computers in the iSchool computer labs. To access the iSchool's license for ATLAS.ti, please email Students requiring access for a project should ask their faculty member to email on their behalf, to request access. The Information School has a license for ATLAS.ti, a qualitative data analysis software. Login with your UW NetID via this web link: UW Qualtrics. All iSchool faculty, researchers, students and staff have access, provisioned under the larger UW license. Qualtrics is a web-based software that can be used to create surveys and generate reports. Access to an Overleaf Professional account can be provided by visiting select "Log in with SSO" and enter your email to log in. The Information School has an OnTheHub site where you can download various software titles like Parallels Desktop, EndNote, Norton Security and Adobe Creative Cloud. To obtain this software, go to the Azure Dev Tools for Teaching site, enter your UW email address, select "Work or school account," and then enter your UW credentials at the UW login page. Through this program, you can download free copies of Windows (client and server), Access, Visio, Project, Visual Studio Code, and SQL Server Management Studio, among other titles. Microsoft has made software available to students, staff, and faculty through Azure Dev Tools for Teaching. More information about Office 365 ProPlus and how to download it are available at the UW-IT UWare site. This license allows you to download and install Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Access, Teams) on up to five computers (Windows or macOS).
